MEGA WAVE PTO at EWTEC 2025 – Highlights from the Conference
The MEGA WAVE PTO project was successfully showcased at the 16th European Wave and Tidal Energy Conference (EWTEC 2025) in Madeira, Portugal (7–11 September).
Henry Jeffrey (University of Edinburgh) delivered the presentation on the Modular Electrical Generator Power Take-Off (PTO) System for Wave Energy, demonstrating the latest advancements in modular PTO technology and sharing insights with the international marine energy community. The session, Electrical Generators 1, brought together leading experts to discuss innovations in electrical generation for wave energy, generating interest and discussion among researchers and industry stakeholders.
In addition to the University of Edinburgh, representatives from WavEC and Ocean Energy Europe joined the conference, actively networking, exchanging ideas, and fostering collaboration with other attendees. Their presence reinforced the strong international collaboration underpinning the MEGA WAVE PTO project.
The MEGA WAVE PTO project continues to leverage a robust network of partners across Europe and beyond, including CGEN Engineering (UK), Supply Design Ltd (UK), TU Crete (Greece), Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna Pisa (Italy), Cheros Engineering (Italy), RWTH Aachen (Germany), Sea Potential (Ireland), Mocean Energy (UK), and CETO Wave Energy Ireland Ltd.
Stay tuned for further updates as the MEGA WAVE PTO project continues to redefine wave energy technology.
