This paper supports MEGA WAVE PTO by focusing on stator coil asymmetries in the air-cored C-GEN permanent magnet generator, which is a key technology within the project. The work investigates how coil-related faults affect the machineβs electrical behaviour and identifies diagnostic indicators that can reveal these issues at an early stage. The results are important for the project because they improve understanding of how winding asymmetries influence performance and reliability, helping the consortium move toward a more robust, fault-aware, and scalable PTO.
